In 2012 we planted our tea garden on our family land in the Alpujarra Valley on the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in Southern Spain. The tea garden is nestled in the certified organic olive grove that was originally planted by the Moors around 1000 years ago. It is irrigated by acequias that have been carrying snowmelt water down the valleys from high up the mountains for centuries. Lemon verbena, various lavenders and mints, lemongrass, orange and almond trees, echinacea, calendula and roses grow happily here, sheltered and guarded by ancient olive trees. It is the perfect micro climate for growing our lemon verbena adding to its potent and extraordinary aromatic quality, gifting us multiple harvests each year.
